Wits Health Consortium is hiring an Administration Officer to join our dynamic team in Parktown. We are looking for a dedicated individual who will play a vital role in managing our administrative functions and supporting our mission to improve health outcomes in our communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Office Management: Oversee the daily operations of the office, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. Manage office supplies, equipment, and maintenance requests to maintain an organized working environment.

  • Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive support to the management team, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes. Maintain accurate records and ensure that all documentation is easily accessible.

  • Communication: Act as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Facilitate effective communication between departments, clients, and vendors to ensure seamless operations.

  • Financial Administration: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets. Process invoices, manage expense reports, and maintain financial records to support the finance team in accurate reporting.

  • Data Management: Maintain and update electronic and paper filing systems, ensuring that all records are organized, accurate, and compliant with relevant policies and regulations.

  • Event Coordination: Assist in organizing and coordinating company events, workshops, and training sessions. Handle logistics, prepare materials, and communicate with participants effectively.

  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as legal and regulatory requirements. Prepare reports and summaries for management as needed to support decision-making.


  • Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A diploma or degree in Business Administration, Office Management, or a related field is preferred.

  • Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an administrative role, preferably within the health sector or a non-profit organization.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with office management software. Familiarity with database management and financial software is an advantage.

  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with diverse groups and maintain a positive demeanor.

  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Demonstrated ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement changes effectively.

  • Team Player: A collaborative approach with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
